THE PROJECT
FINDING THE ARCHITECTURE WITHIN
The original request was straightforward: new siding and a new side deck. But looking at the house as a whole revealed an opportunity to do more.
Its long, simple façade had lost much of its midcentury character. Rather than simply replacing what was there, the exterior was reconsidered as a whole — bringing greater definition to the architecture and creating a stronger sense of arrival.
What began as a few targeted changes grew into a broader transformation of the house and property, while staying true to the character that was already there.

BEHIND THE WORK
MORE THAN A NEW EXTERIOR
As the project developed, one decision began to reveal another.
New siding and a side deck led to rethinking the entry entirely, reconsidering the driveway and approach to the house, replacing windows and roofing, and relocating the home's main electrical service.
Those changes also meant navigating approvals across septic, health, conservation, planning and zoning, and building — with each piece affecting what could happen next.
The project became about much more than updating the exterior. It was about seeing how the architecture, site, infrastructure and approvals could work together — and carrying that larger vision through execution.
