WHERE IT BEGAN
An evolving practice
In 2004, Melissa founded declutter + design, LLC in New York City. Working directly with homeowners gave her an early understanding of how people actually use their homes — and how thoughtful changes to space can improve everyday life.
Over time, that work evolved into a broader focus on space planning, design and renovation.

Earlier in her career, Melissa was an Emmy Award-winning producer for the YES Network. That experience continues to shape the way she works today: managing complex projects, coordinating teams, solving problems as they arise and keeping sight of both the larger vision and the details required to execute it.
INVESTMENT + REDEVELOPMENT
A firsthand perspective on residential value
As a real estate investor and residential redeveloper, Melissa acquires and redevelops single-family homes throughout Fairfield County, from outdated properties to off-market opportunities. Working independently and with partners, she leads projects from acquisition strategy and design through construction and resale.
That experience informs how she evaluates a home — balancing design and construction decisions with marketability and long-term value.
