Melissa Levy is a real estate investor and redeveloper focused on residential properties throughout Fairfield County and select suburban Connecticut markets.
Building on more than two decades of experience as founder of declutter + design, LLC — a firm she established in 2004 specializing in organizing, staging, and interior design — Melissa developed deep expertise in residential presentation, renovation planning, and spatial transformation.
Through years of collaborating with homeowners, developers, and real estate professionals, she gained a strong understanding of buyer psychology, market positioning, and the relationship between design choices and perceived value. Her background centered on identifying untapped potential within existing homes and reimagining interiors to enhance flow, efficiency, and everyday livability.
Earlier in her career, Melissa was an Emmy Award-winning producer for the YES Network, where she built expertise in storytelling, production, and complex project execution — experience that continues to shape her disciplined and detail-oriented approach to redevelopment.
Today, she concentrates on the acquisition and repositioning of single-family residences in towns including Westport, Fairfield, Greenwich, and surrounding communities. She manages each stage from acquisition through construction with an emphasis on thoughtful modernization, improved usability, and design aligned with the expectations of today’s buyers.
Melissa is particularly drawn to properties with strong underlying fundamentals, renovation upside, and opportunities to enhance spatial flow, practicality, and long-term market appeal. Her portfolio includes full-scale rehabilitations, cosmetic updates, and floor plan reconfigurations.
Having personally navigated the transition from New York City to Fairfield County, Melissa brings firsthand insight into the evolving priorities influencing today’s suburban housing market, particularly the increasing demand for flexible and adaptable living environments.
